Theme to Fawlty Towers

Back

This is the theme song for an educational British TV show called "Fawlty Towers." It was scripted by and starred John Cleese and Connie Booth. Other players were Prunella Scales and Andrew Sachs. The Theme for Fawlty Towers was composed for string quartet by Dennis Wilson in 1974. I thought it was time to record something a little more upscale, bring a touch of class to YouTube, which I have heard can sometimes attract "rubbish." There were twelve episodes of Fawlty Towers created, covering such subjects as death, post-WWII British relations with Germany, psychiatry, and gambling addiction, with occasional forays into less weighty topics, such as gourmet cooking -- I particularly remember a recipe for Waldorf Salad was presented. http://www.kitchenproject.com/history/Waldorf_Salad.htm More info if you have more time than I do: http://www.fawltysite.net Correction: I thought the hotel was in England, but apparently it is in Florida -- my mistake, it's been a while since I saw the show: http://www.fawltytowersresort.com
