Dylan Wins Divisional Championship in Breaststroke!

Dylan won first place in the MCSL Divisional Championship for the 9-10 girls 25m Breaststroke with her best time ever of 20.26 (beating her previous best by .71 seconds)! It was such a sweet victory...she faced her friend from another team who she used to train with last winter -- 11 year-old Michalea. She beat Dylan in this event in June and she had the best seed time going in. In the video, Michalea is in green to Dylan's left. I was told by one of our team officials that Michalea was trying to talk to Dylan while they were in the queue -- all very friendly, but Dylan pretty much stayed focused and did not respond to her. If you watch the pre race, you'll notice Michaela looks over at Dylan a few times and she ends up getting a slow start. This was the opportunity Dylan needed to pull off the victory! She also beat Rachel, another top nine-year-old in the county who is well-known to Dylan. These two have battled a few times this year, including some RMSC meets. In the breaststroke, Dylan beat her in May, Rachel won in June, then two weeks ago, Dylan posted the best time, and finally, just last week, Rachel past Dylan's best time in this event -- that's why she's in the middle lane next to Michalea. Her teammate, Delaney swam in the lane to Dylan's right. Delaney also swims her personal best by .68 seconds and gets third place -- PLUS a #14 county ranking, which puts her in the All-Star Meet with Dylan now ranked #10 -- congratulations girls!
