Wanna know why we are named "UMAGSIW" ? Check it out here ! The Root of Tribe's Name The tribe's name, UMAGSIW, was cradled from two Visayan root words, "MAG-UUMA" (farmer) which our patron saint, ST. ISIDORE was known to be and "HIGSIW", a variety of "BARUNGOY" that became the highlight of the festival. The creation of tribe's name, UMAGSIW, came across 2 very main reasons on why it was combined. Firstly, to honor the toil of our patron saint and also to be connected to the festival that featured the means of fishing and fishes themselves. Secondly, because our dance spoke about the manner of living of the San Fernandohanon before, decades had passed. That's how our name came into existence and the legacy it will make soon. Long Live UMAGSIW ! "the true essence of WINNING lies in the naked eyes and the heart of the SAN FERNANDOHANON !"
