the real SIKOY SIKOY ! Storyline : Long ago, decades had passed, before money, credit cards and banks came into existence and before a wide range of technology, the San Fernandohanon lived a very simple life both on highland and seashore. The fisher men (mananagat) patiently caught fishes and other aquatic creatures, the farmers (mag-uuma) persistently planted root crops and the cheerful fish vendors (pasahera) sell their fishes joyfully. Fishing, a means of livelihood of the San Fernandohanon. Everytime a boat land ashore, a loud sound roar the entire San Fernando with the use of a horn, and we locally called it "BUDYONG" to announce the arrival of the fishermen. Then the coming out of the fisher folks eager to see the fishes caught for food consumption and to any activity it may serve. On the other side farmers toiled their land, and before technology, we used carabao with the aid of simple machines like "daro". After days and nights as harvest time is approaching, they are ready to reap what they sow. It's harvest time armed with scythe (sanggot), sogong, bolo (guna) and other paraphernalia. After having abundant harvest both sea and land, farmers and fishers gather in their meeting place. And happen there is a trade, where there is no money integrated yet barter took place, Fishes for farmers and ROOT CROPS for fishers. After receiving and sharing one's blessing is somewhat a heart that says,"DAGHANG SALAMAT SAN ISIDRO !" And after each abundant harvest is unity among San Fernandohanon, Celebrating for the graces received, thanking and praising our Generous Giver, through San Isidro Labrador. After all, is a prayer whispered to ask Him to continue shower us with His profuse graces. by: GENESIS PASILAN SEAS !
